“ABREOS” Success Story

BRAD MESSMER  (CEO of Abreos Bioscience San Diego and Abreos France, Marseille )

“I don’t know that many places that gather such a strong level of R&D institutes, innovative biotech companies, some substantial financial and tax incentives and all of that in a collaborative atmosphere and with a great weather all year long, not to mention the advantages of the CE Mark-age”

Thanks to a delegation co-organized by BIOCOM and EUROBIOMED in the South of France, the San Diego based and Biocom member company Abreos Biosciences took a round trip ticket to Marseille to discover the European ecosystem and meet with the best biotech institutes such as the Paoli Calmette Institute.

While working on therapeutic doses monitoring for cancer, it didn’t take long before both of them, Abreos and Paoli Calmette Institute made the step to consider a partnership.

An agreement was then signed in 2016. Abreos France was born.

“This collaboration with the IPC will demonstrate the potential for biologic drug monitoring in cancer to improve outcomes and lower costs. We are delighted to have an institute with a world-leading oncology expertise as partners to help us realize the full potential of truly personalized medicine using our best-in-class tests,” said Dr. Bradley Messmer, Chief Executive Officer.

But this could never have happened without the support of Eurobiomed and the local ecosystem to help the companies benefit from the wide arrow of tax credits, fundings and soft landing incentives.

Biocom is the largest advocate for California’s life science sector, serving members across industries in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotech & more.

Eurobiomed is the catalyst of the health sector in Southern France. The cluster leads territorial initiatives, provides resources and offers solutions for businesses and research organizations.
