IMREDD: THE IDEAL PLACE TO INVENT THE MEDITERRANEAN CITY OF TOMORROW IN THE SUD REGION

A genuinely original place that fosters cooperation between the academic world, companies, and the regional territory, the Mediterranean Institute of Risk, Environment, and Sustainable Development (IMREDD) works with the business ecosystem to promote research partnerships, to create initial and continued training opportunities, and to encourage expertise and innovation for the benefit of economic development and job creation in the region.

On February 14th, a new 5000 m² building for IMREDD was inaugurated by Frédérique VIDAL (Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation), Renaud MUSELIER (President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, President of the Regions of France), Christian ESTROSI (Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metro Area, Deputy Chairman of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region), Charles-Ange GINESY (President of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council), Jeanick BRISSWALTER (President of the Université Côte d’Azur) and Pierre-Jean BARRE, (CEO of  IMREDD). This new building, located in the Nice Méridia technology park, is the culmination of a project jointly coordinated by the Université Côte d’Azur and the Nice-Côte d’Azur Metro Area, with financing delivered through a joint national-regional government planning contract.

Designed and developed around an open technology platform dedicated to sustainable development and the Smart City, IMREDD is a significant stakeholder in the major Eco-Vallée Plaine du Var project, especially the goal to invent the Mediterranean city of tomorrow.
